BarCamp Kathmandu 2011

After TedX, it’s BarCamp’s turn to shake up Kathmandu.

The unconfrencing conference is being held on Saturday August 6 at Nepal Administrative Staff College, Jawlakhel.

Tech Sansar has information on the Camp. For details on the sessions, check here.

This year, social media seems to be THE hot topic of discussion. There are variations-social media and charity, social media for change etc but the underlying theme seems to be the same. Social media has established itself among the geeks and interested in Kathmandu.

There is a session on Nepal’s economy, 2 sessions on hacking and one- curiously, on diet of a tiger.

Social issues like education reform, women’s rights and labor reform are not included this year. Let’s hope that next year they will dethrone social media and be the superstars of BarCamp Kathmandu.
